Colours are debated on various scales.I have always had the fascination towards colours.But what is it actually.Just a biological thing in human,derived from the spectrum in universe,or just a conceptual thing that human believes in.To speak on these possibilities we need a deeper understand on what makes us feel(feel??or see??) the colours in this universe.
The human colour perception is based on three "channels", i.e. we have three types of cones with different spectral sensitivity curves.That's why three colour channels, red, green and blue, are enough in TV and digital imaging to cover all colours.
Now said that the colour are perceived by these three channels. It is also claimed that the color of an object depends both on physics and on perception.Physically, surfaces can be said to have the colour of the light reflecting off them, which depends on the spectrum of the incident illumination and on the reflectance spectrum of the surface, as well as potentially on the lighting and viewing angles.However, a viewer's perception of the object color depends not only on the reflected light spectrum,but also on a host of contextual cues, such that an object's color tends to be perceived as relatively constant,that is, relatively independent of the lighting spectrum, viewing angle, etc.
The biologically the ability of the human eye to distinguish colors is based upon the varying sensitivity of different cells in the retina to light of different wavelengths. There are two type of humans with respect to colour perception.
1.trichromatic
2.tetra chromatic
More than 99% of humans are Trichromats.They have three channels structure which corresponds to their colour viewing ability by mixing up red,green and blue in the appropriate ratio.
Tetrachromats have fourth channel where the intermediate colour between green and blue form this fourth channel.These people have ability to differentiate between more colour than a Trichromat.
The intreseting thing is ,if colour is just a ray of perception ,then how do we define someone blind.What does a blind see in this world? there are other who are colour blind.And what you see green in the day is not green at night(according to you)...
Let us put these concepts and theories aside and enjoy the nature colour that we have around us.Let us celebrate the colour of NATURE naturally:-).

Hey Prabeesh, I was surprised to see biological knowledge in u whose soul is dedicated to technology. Yes I believe technogy has to touch every essence of life. Good research. Perceiving color, I would compare it with the way we perceive any situation. It has both biological as well as psychological effect on it. Few things are obvious. But same things will be viewed in different ways. Same is the case here. Even we have biological stuff involved here. But I have no such deep knowledge as you.
I am already a big fan of yours. Now I have more reason for that. Keep up the good job.
